Supporting your research at every stage of the data lifecycle.

Our Data Services team offers personalized support for students, faculty, and staff working with data, whether you’re just getting started or ready to share your results. We provide one-on-one consultations and workshops across the full research process, from planning to publication.

Some of our most common requests include:

  • Finding data: We help locate existing datasets, including hard-to-find or missing federal datasets.
  • Planning your analysis: Make an appointment to discuss your research design, whether you're using quantitative, qualitative, or mixed methods.
  • Cleaning and preparing data: We offer guidance on data cleaning, transformation, and de-identification.
  • Analyzing data: Get support with statistical tools, coding, interpreting results, or data visualization.
  • Learning to code: We support beginners and more advanced users working in R, Python, Excel, SPSS, and more.
  • Documenting and managing data: From data management plans (DMPs) to documentation for reuse, we support best practices in FAIR data principles.
  • Sharing and preserving data: We’ll help you find appropriate repositories and meet publisher or funder requirements.
  • Research profiles and reporting tools: We support ORCiD, SciENcv, and other tools to streamline grant applications and faculty reporting.
