Chinese Classic Ancient Books is the largest database of Pre-20th-century texts covering all fields of knowledge. It has become a widely used reference for the study of pre-twentieth-century China, noted for its broad coverage and the quality of its editions. Texts are provided in both full-text and image formats, allowing for direct comparison between the digitized text and the original, as well as, in some instances, across different editions. The texts are divided into four sections: Philosophy and Science, History and Geography, Art and Literature, and General Works; each of these is split up into 20 major categories, which in turn are divided into 100 minor categories.
