Want to search or browse dissertations on a particular topic?
• Use Dissertations & Theses Online (1637 to current)
• Use WorldCat (use the Content drop-down menu next to 'Subtype limits' to select 'Thesis/dissertation')
In some instances, the author of a dissertation may place it under "embargo". In that case, even though it's been "published", copies are not available. This is the author's decision and is respected by the databases and by the author's home library.
In these cases, GW Libraries will not be able to obtain a copy for you.
Find dissertations on your research topic by searching for key terms in the abstracts of dissertations, or search for other dissertations from GW or from your advisor. Most dissertations have literature reviews, which can be very helpful to your own lit review. The database includes the full text of dissertations from 1997 to the present.
