Background Information

Finding Background information on your author, major characters, or major philosophical ideas can give you a solid foundation for beginning to do research on your chosen or assigned topic.  Background information will usually provide a guide to major schools of thought over time on philosophical concepts, cite key thinkers in the field, as well as often providing citations for further research.
