Quick guide to online citation organization tools, including RefWorks & Zotero

What Is Zotero?

IMPORTANT: If you use the optional Zotero Connector for Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge, please upgrade to the latest version (5.0.104 or later). The Connector is NOT automatically updated when Zotero itself is updated. See the Zotero downloads page for links and instructions.

Zotero is a free research and citation management tool that helps you collect and organize citations and sources. Zotero works online and with word processors to recognize and capture information and generate citations.  All of your citations and resources are collected and displayed in one interface, where you can upload and access content in a variety of formats including PDFs, images, snapshots of web pages, audio and video files, and more. Zotero also enables the creation of shared library folders, which are extremely helpful for any kind of collaborative research.

New! GW users can get unlimited personal and group cloud storage in Zotero. To access the GW subscription please fill out this form.
