Smithsonian Institution Museums
Links to the individual museums of the Smithsonian Institution, many of which have libraries or research centers open to the public.

Dumbarton Oaks Research Library & Collection
An institute of Harvard University dedicated to supporting scholarship internationally in Byzantine, Garden and Landscape, and Pre-Columbian studies. Dumbarton Oaks welcomes scholars to consult its books, images, and objects.

American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress
The oldest repository of manuscripts, photographs, and sound and video recordings of traditional culture, founded in 1928. Requires a Library of Congress Reader's Card.
